William Scott Melvin Jr.

William Scott Melvin Jr. , 71, of Harker Heights passed away on September 5, 2013 at his residence. His body was cremated. Private family services will be held at a later date. Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements. William Scott Melvin Jr. was born on January 25, 1942 in Neptune, New Jersey to William and Rita (Horner) Melvin. He served in the U.S. Army for 23 years until his retirement 1984 .He worked as a TDC officer at the Ellis Unit in Huntsville until his retirement in 1998. He married Carol Meyer on August 28, 1964at the Great Lakes Navy Base. She preceded him in death on July 9, 2010. Survivors are four sons, William Scott Melvin III of Trinity, August Carl Melvin of Harker Heights, Steven Raymond Melvin of Elgin, OK. And John Adam Melvin of Harker Heights; three daughters, Wendy Sue McKean of Saginaw, Mich., Cheryl Lynn McCallister of Harker Heights and Mary Beth Melvin of Harker Heights; two brothers, Richard Melvin of Beach, North Dakota and Donald Melvin of Fargo, North Dakota; two sisters, Edna Keller of Mott North Dakota and Kathy Ebner of Richville, Minnesota; five grandchildren To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of William Scott Melvin Jr. please visit our Sympathy Store.
