Wendy Ann Griggs

Wendy Ann Griggs, 53, of Harker Heights went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 12, 2018 after a long courageous battle of over 20 years with Breast Cancer. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 at Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Belton. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 19, at Crotty Funeral Home. Graveside services with military honors will follow at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 19, 2018 a Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. Wendy was born on September 29, 1964 to Lytton Orr and Wilhemiena Fraser in Trinidad. She joined the U.S. Army in 1986 and retired in 2010. Fighting her illness never caused her to slack on her career or taking care of her family. She was a strong woman with a selfless heart. Wendy enjoyed gardening, reading, and traveling. She loved being a mother to her two boys and spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lytton Orr and Wilhemiena Fraser; her brother, Michael Wilson; her sisters, Patsy Wilson and Bridgette McGuire; her nephews, Ryan Lewis and Sheldon Hoyt; her niece, Suzette Wilson, Eligha Griggs, Johnwill Griggs. Wendy is survived by her husband, Tommy Griggs of Georgia; her two sons, Ryan Jacobs of Harker Heights, and John Griggs of Evans, GA; her brothers, Anthony Job, Levi Orr, Leroy Orr, and Lenny Orr, all of Trinidad; her sisters, Wilma Martin of Brooklyn, NY, Irma Wilson of Brooklyn, NY, Anette Orr of Trinidad, Janice Harrilal of Baltimore, MD, Lynette Anderson of West Palm Beach, FL, Diane Orr of Brooklyn, NY, Pat Young, and Camille Branch of Ft Lauderdale, FL., sister in-laws; Katie Griggs, Mary Scott, Rosa Griggs Collins, Pearl Dean, Jodi Boykin, Tina Coleman ,Lisa Griggs, Margret Mathis, Diane Milton, and brother in-laws; Charles Griggs, and James Griggs.
