Virginia Ann Champion Hernandez, 63, of Temple passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 in a local hospital. Virginia was born to Joe Alexander Champion Sr. and Mary Luz Medrano Champion on December 9, 1955 in Floydada, Texas. Virginia was a United States Navy veteran, and she worked as a hospital unit coordinator at Scott & White for ten years. She was an avid reader who loved listening to audio books, going to the movies, cooking, and spending time with her family at get togethers. She also loved to shop and was always looking for the next best deal. Visitation will be held at Crotty Funeral Home on Sunday, May 12, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. A rosary service be held at Crotty Funeral Home after the visitation, starting at 7:00 P.M. with Deacon Joe Vela officiating. Our Lady of Guadalupe will be holding a mass officiated by Father Tom Chamberlain on Monday, May 13, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. Virginia is survived by her son Anthony Lee Soto of Canton, Ohio; her daughters Chasity Lake of Locke Mills, Maine and Angelic Menarcheck of Carrollton, Ohio; her brothers Mario Champion of Temple, Joe Champion Jr. of Florida, and James Champion of Canyon Lake, Texas; her sisters Anna Maria Champion of Canyon Lake, Texas, Lanora Champion Flores of San Marcos, Texas, Juanita Champion of Canyon Lake, Texas, and Mary Champion-Smith of Canyon Lake, Texas; her eleven grandchildren; and her numerous other family members and friends.
