Sterlin L. Doughty

Sterlin L. Doughty,58, of Temple passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017 at a local hospital. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Crotty Funeral Home of Belton. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 9, 2017 at Rogers Cemetery in Rogers. His body was cremated. Sterlin was born on September 7, 1958 to Elmer and Chloie Doughty in Temple. He graduated from Temple High School in 1977 and married his high school sweetheart, Karen Davis June 30, 1978 in Temple. Sterlin was a truck driver most of his life. He enjoyed fishing and boating. He was known for being quite the jokester. He even was pulling pranks on the hospital staff during his final days. Sterlin had the biggest caring heart. He raised many children as his own and helped so many. Sterlin loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren. He is precede in death by his parents, Elmer and Chloie Doughty. Sterlin is survived by his loving wife, Karen Doughty of Temple;his sons, Christopher Doughty and Cory Doughty, both of Temple; his daughter, Kayla and husband, Honz Chapman of Temple; his brother, Ray Doughty of Temple;six grandchildren, two on the way, and four great grandchildren. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McLane Children's Hospital of Temple. Arrangements are entrusted to Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Belton.
