Sonia Garcia

Sonia Garcia, 70, of Killeen passed away on Sunday, March 07, 2021 in a local nursing home. Sonia was born to Emilia Colón and Manuel Santiago on March 05, 1951 in Santurce, Puerto Rico. She worked as a nurse in Puerto Rico, also doing much missionary work. Sonia enjoyed writing, crafting, drawing, cooking, and baking delicious cakes. She also indulged in chocolate and coffee. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family, especially her six grandchildren and all of her adopted children and grandchildren.

A visitation for Sonia will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Crotty Funeral Home in Belton. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM. She will be cremated following services.

Sonia is survived by her daughters, Lizbetthe Rodriguez of Killeen, Lyzzamarie Osorio of Missouri, and Ilva Smith of Killeen, who was like a daughter; her sisters, Maritza Santiago and Gilda Santiago, both of Bayamon, Puerto Rico; and her six grandchildren.

Sonia is preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Angel Luis Quinones, Raul Colón, and Jose Manuel Santiago.
