Sharon Louise Moore

January 12, 1953 — August 29, 2021

Sharon Moore, born on January 12, 1953, to Thomas and Ann Moore in Temple passed away at the age of 68, on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at her residence. 

 

A visitation for Sharon will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M on Tuesday, September 7th, 2021, at Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Belton. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 A.M on Wednesday, September 8,2021 at Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Belton. Her burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple.

 

Sharon started her nursing career after she graduated from Mary Hardin Baylor College in 1978 with a BS in Nursing and went on to attend Texas A&M University Corpus Christi in 1992 where she obtained her Masters to become a nurse practitioner.  Sharon then continued to further her career with her doctorate degree from the University of Alabama in 2010 and began her nursing career at Scott & White in Temple.  She also worked at the VA Hospital in Temple as a nurse practitioner in the Urology Clinic. Sharon retired from the VA and went to work as a nurse practitioner at Scott & White in the Endocrinology Clinic until she retired. She was a charter member of Heart of Texas Nurse Practitioners, Texas Nurse Practitioners, American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Sharon also was a speaker at the VA Nurse Practitioners Conferences and Chairman of VA Conference. As you can see nursing was what made Sharon tick.She enjoyed traveling with Dr. Veronica Peziak to different locations.  She was an avid UMHB football fan and had season tickets so she could root for the team.  She also loved to attend all types of concerts, some she enjoyed were, Earth, Wind & Fire, Chicago, the Carpenters, Paul Revere, and the Raiders. Sharon was a life-long member ,elder, held various positions of the board, and even lead elder at the time of her passing at the First Christian Church in Belton. She sang beautifully in the church choir singing solos and duets, on many occasions.
 

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Anne Moore and Thomas A. Moore; her brothers, Nicholaus Moore, Sr, Gerald Kay Moore; her sister-in-law, Gwendolyn Moore; her niece, Vicky Moore, and her precious poodle, Louie.


She is survived by her niece, Diana Kay Moore; her nephews, Bryan Moore (Tracy) of Utah, Captain Chad Moore (Annabelle) of Abilene, 1st Lt. Tyler Moore of California, her beloved dog, Libby Lou, and several kitty cats. 

Sharon is also survived by her loving community of friends; her wonderful church family, Amy, Charlene, Marilyn,and many more; her loving friends, Lanelle Alexander, Ann Paruzinski, Kathy Jordan, Sue Johnston.
 

Donations may be made to First Christian Church of Belton, Animal Rescue/Shelter, or a charity of choice.
 

Arrangements are entrusted to Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Belton.
