Ruben Tijerina Lopez

Ruben Tijerina Lopez, 79, of Killeen passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 in the comfort of his home. Ruben was born to Benjamin Tijerina and Conrrada Lopez on December 17, 1939 in Reynosa, Mexico. He worked as a taxi driver, and he was always thinking about how to make his next dollar. Ruben was an excellent storyteller and loved to tell his large family about his life experiences. Ruben is preceded in death by his parents Benjamin Tijerina and Conrrada Lopez, and his son Abelardo Tijerina. Ruben is survived by his wife of 63 years, whom he met in elementary school, Maria De La Luz Resendez; his sons Ruben Tijerina Jr., Jose Guadalupe Tijerina, and Ruben Tijerina; his daughters Guadalupe Tijerina, Yolanda Tijerina, Diana Tijerina, Maria Tijerina, Fabiola Tijerina, Laura Tijerina, and Claudia Tijerina; his brothers Benjamin Tijerina, Samuel Tijerina, and Ruben Tijerina; his sisters Manuela Tijerina and Antonia Vega; his forty grandchildren, forty-three great grandchildren, and ten great great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Crotty Funeral Home of Belton. Graveside service will be on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at North Belton Cemetery.
