Rodney Joaquin Montoya Hernandez, lovingly known as RJ, was born on December 14, 2023, in Temple, Texas. His bright light brought joy to all who knew him until his passing on May 6, 2024, also in Temple, Texas.
During his short time with us, RJ touched the hearts of many with his infectious laughter and kind spirit. He will always be remembered for his warm smile and love towards everyone in his life.
RJ is now reuniting with his beloved grandmothers, Alicia Montoya and Mary Martinez, who have gone before him. They will forever watch over him from above for us.
In the hearts of those who mourn his loss but cherish his memory, RJ leaves behind his loving parents, Jeremiah Hernandez and Jacklyn Montoya; paternal grandparents, Diana and Johnny Lopez; maternal grandparents, Jack Montoya, Jr. and Dora Pofahl along with her husband Cory; uncles: Jack Montoya III, Michael Hernandez, Mateo Hernandez, Robert Hernandez Jr., Matthew Lopez along with his wife Victoria Villarreal and Jacob Hernandez; aunts: Danielle Lopez, Shanna Ramirez, Angelica Flores and Laura McLeod.
A visitation service to honor RJ's life will take place on May 10, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Templo Bethel Pentecostes located at 2320 Santa Maria Street in Austin, TX. It will be a time to share memories and find comfort in each other's presence as we celebrate the beautiful life of Our RJ.
Though gone too soon, RJ's memory will live on through those who knew him. May he rest in peace knowing he was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of being part of his journey.
