Robert ""Bob"" Walter Pohle

Robert "Bob" Walter Pohle of Harker Heights passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at a local hospital. Bob was born on September 1, 1934 to Joseph and Bertha Pohle in Lodi, CA. He received a Bachelor's Degree from Pacific Union College. Bob worked as a printer in publishing Christian literature for most of his life. He lived to spread and share his love for the Lord. Bob did mission work in Japan for some time and also Bible school. While living in Japan, his children have memories of famous people being in their home, for example Desmond Doss, the hero of the movie, "Hacksaw Ridge." He enjoyed working on cars; his son Victor cherishes memories of them building a kit car together. Bob could fix just about anything and was said to have been born with a wrench in his back pocket. He enjoyed camping with his family and even once restored an Airstream RV. Bob liked genealogy, photography, and traveling. He was a man who always just wanted to be with and help his family and others; his was a servant attitude. Bob was an active member of the Temple Seventh-day Church where he served as a deacon. He is survived by his loving wife, Delores Pohle of Harker Heights, TX; his sons, Victor Pohle and wife, Valerie, of Collegedale, TN and Rob Pohle and wife, Tami of Yellow Spring, WV; his daughters, Debbie Brock and husband, Robert, of Harker Heights and Candy Harvey and husband, Ken, of Crowley, TX; his sister, Carol Sahly of Abbotsford, British Columbia; eight grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Bertha Pohle and his sister, June Martin. A memorial service will be held at 10 A.M. on Monday, April 17, 2017 at the Temple Seventh-day Adventist Church located at 1911 W. Avenue H in Temple with Pastor Richard Harbour officiating. This service will be followed by a private family graveside at North Belton Cemetery. His body was cremated. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to 3ABN at 3ABN.org /P.O.
