His unconditional love and unwavering dedication were evident in every aspect of his life. Robert married Mary Nell Bates, November 22, 1958. Robert served his country honorably during the Korean War in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954. Robert's devotion extended beyond his immediate family. He touched the lives of many as a kind-hearted friend and caring individual with his many years of serving the community from his auto mechanic shop in Gatesville. He also worked for Kalyn Trailers and Rockwool Industries until his retirement in 1987. His warm spirit and welcoming nature made everyone feel at ease in his presence. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Robert enjoyed time with his kids and grandchildren, sharing his signature ice cream. He was a master at BINGO and enjoyed fishing whenever he could.
