Richard Cameron Rankin III, 63, of Temple passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017 at Scott & White Memorial Hospital. Richard was born October 5, 1953 to Richard and JoAnne Rankin in Uvalde. He was the oldest of seven children. He earned an Associates Degree from Temple College. Richard worked for Walmart Distribution for fifteen years as a fork lift operator. He enjoyed Sports, NASCAR, landscaping, gardening, Sci Fi, reading, and debating with people over art and history. Richard loved being a grandfather and spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church in Temple. Richard is survived by his two sons, Cameron Rankin of San Diego, and Drew Rankin of Temple;two daughters, Shanna Cameron of Temple, and Amber Burleson of Franklin;three brothers, David Rankin of Cedar Park, Terry Rankin of Temple, and Tommy Rankin of Belton;three sisters, Patty Brice of Sandia, Catherine Rankin of Cedar Park, Margaret Rankin of Seattle, and thirteen grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Belton. A memorial mass for Richard will be held at 10 :00 A.M. on Friday, March 24, 2017 at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Temple.
