Raymond "Ray" Cole Schnack Sr. 58, of Killeen passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015 at residence. A private family service will be held at a later date. His body was cremated. Ray was born on April 3, 1956 to walter and Irene Schnack in Fort Riley, KS. His father a "lifer" (career Army), Raymond was raised in Germany, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, and Texas. In his youth, he was an active member of Boy Scouts of America and later a member of Explorer Post 227, Allohak Indian Dance Team at Fort Hood, Texas. After graduating from Killeen High School, he worked briefly as a prison guard at Eastham Unit near Houston, Texas. Most of his adult life, he worked in the food industry at every level from custodian to restaurant management at Missouri, Oklahoma, California, and Texas. He became medically disabled and lived with his mother at her home at Killeen. As much as his own health allowed, he provided in-home care for her when her health failed. Raymond is survived by one son, Raymond Schnack in Warrensburg, Missouri; one daughter, Jessie Bernardo of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and his sister Cindy Coffell of Killeen.
