Ramona Dell Penney, age 83, of Harker Heights, Texas went home to be with the Lord on August 2, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.
Ramona was born on March 10, 1940 in Apache, Oklahoma to Dorothy Innalee and James Herman Huckleberry.
After graduating from Apache High School she began her career with the Department of Defense. Her career took her abroad where she served 10 years in Germany. She loved her time there and took up many hobbies, including painting and sketching. She loved traveling all over Europe and especially loved when family and friends would come visit.
Ramona’s career spanned over 40 years until she retired from civil service at Fort Hood Army Base in Killeen Texas.
She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Belton, where she also served as church secretary before fully retiring.
She is preceded in death by her brothers James David and Gerald Warren Huckleberry, both of Oklahoma.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son Richard Penney (Donna) of Joshua, Texas, daughter Michelle Spitsnaugle-Meador (John) of Buda, Texas, her grandsons Cameron Wisor (Shelby), Mason Wisor, Jordan Spitsnaugle, David Penney, granddaughter Madison LaTulipe, her great grandsons Oliver and Cooper Wisor and Declan LaTulipe, a sister, nieces and nephews, many other family members and friends.
As per her request the family will hold a private memorial service.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Tiny Seeds Christian Preschool (located at Fellowship Church of Plum Creek 160 Grace St. Kyle, Texas) where her 3 great grandsons attend or First Baptist Church of Belton.
