Perry Earl McGruder

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Perry McGruder, who passed away on May 8, 2024, at a hospital in Temple, surrounded by his devoted family.

Born on August 23, 1949, in Rifle, Colorado, Perry was the son of Perry and Naomi (Webb) McGruder.

In his 74 years of life, Perry found immense joy in the time spent with his family. Despite working diligently as a Custodian for numerous years, his true happiness emanated from the time shared with those he held dear. Perry's loving wife, Lilace McGruder, preceded him in death in 2018.

Perry leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. He is survived by his son Roy Schumacher of Temple, his daughter Ruth Watson of New Hampshire, his brother Mike McGruder of Meeker, Colorado, and his sisters Sandy Austin of New Mexico and Mary McGruder of Glenwood Springs. Perry also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will always carry his spirit with them.

In addition to his wife, Perry was predeceased by his parents and his daughter Michelle McGruder.

Private family services will be held in Colorado at a future date to honor and celebrate Perry's life.

May the memories shared with Perry bring comfort to those who had the privilege of knowing him. His presence will be deeply missed but will forever remain etched in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
