Paul David Weaver

April 6, 1953 — March 18, 2016

Paul "David" Weaver was born on April 6, 1953 in Forest, Mississippi to Wydell Wheeler and Paul Weaver. He graduated from Prentiss High School and Pearl River Community College with a degree in business management. He also attended the University of Southern Mississippi. He married the love of his life, Vicki Blue and her two children, Becca and Robert, on June 21, 1985 in Crane, TX and began a legacy of love. Together, they had a son, Dustin, who was Daddy's little man. He drove a truck for 35 years before retiring in 2009. That's when his true talents really emerged. I will never be able to walk into a kitchen without seeing him standing there, measuring meticulously to make the perfect dinner. He had a laugh that could fill up any room. He was an amazing baby sitter, except for diaper duty, a patient listener with the most sound advice, a top-notch navigator for his temporarily misplaced wife and children, and the most loyal fan Peyton Manning ever had. He was the best friend any of us could ever ask for. Most importantly, this man loved Jesus. He had a lifelong relationship with him, and that is what comforts us now, knowing he's looking down from Heaven and saying, "You ain't right, child!", his favorite saying to all of us. Jesus escorted David's mom, Wydell, to Metroplex Hospital early on the morning of March 18, which was her angelversary, to bring her little boy home to Heaven. It was finally time for him to meet his daddy, who was killed in action in Korea 12 days after David was born. David was an amazing man, worthy of words that can only be spoken with your heart. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Vicki "Babydoll" Weaver of Temple, daughters Becca Blackman , Chelsea and husband Jessie Callis, both of Kempner, TX, Courtney Weaver of Austin, TX; sons Robert Blackman and wife Jody of Woodbury, TN, Dustin Weaver and fiancée Ashlynne of Midland, TX, Chad Weaver of Temple, TX, and Paul Smith and wife Leighann of Hope Mills, NC; grandchildren Carly, Caleb, Corben, Benjamin, Cade, Briar, Katie, Jaycie, Spencer and Jenson, and great granddaughter, Samantha Paige; Sister, Linda Batte of Mississippi. He is also survived and his personality and sense of humor will live on through his BFF, Cara- his granddaughter, his partner in crime, his selfie partner and make up artist. He is preceeded in death by his parents Wydell and Paul Dee, his step father who raised him, Gene Roland, and also Louis McCollum. Services will be held Tuesday, March 22 at Crotty Funeral Home in Belton, TX with burial and graveside services to follow at Kempner Cemetery. "If you can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch." David Weaver was the biggest of the big dogs. Rest easy, Spanky. We will carry your legacy with us.
