Paul D. Reed, 52, of Temple passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2014. A visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, October 20, 2014 at Crotty Funeral Home in Belton. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple with Pastor Jason Harris officiating. A fellowship will follow at 11:30 A.M at The Gober House located at 1516 W. Avenue H in Temple. Paul Dean Reed was born on October 1, 1962 in Bernalillo County, Indiana. He graduated from West Mesa High School in 1980 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He joined the U.S. Army in 1982 until 1991. He was a member of the DAV and the PVA. He married Shirley Reed on June 20, 1988 in Belton, Texas and she preceded him in death on November 2, 2006. He married Debra Crotty on November 10, 2011. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Paul was physically challenged but his heart had wings. He loved selflessly and unconditionally. Survivors are his wife, Debra Crotty of Temple; four step sons, Billy Grigsby, Derek Heine, Levi Crotty all of Temple and Jason Thompson of Georgetown; step daughters, Jarrah Crotty Schonewolf of Belton, Misty Vasta of Killeen, Desiree Hovatter, Christina Heine, and Jennifer Heine all of Temple; one brother, Donovan Reed of Akron, Ohio; two sisters, Vivian Gomez of Riverside, CA and Roberta Reed of San Antonio; two dear friends, Carol Washington and Rayna Squires both of Temple; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Memorials may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America Research Foundation.
