Patrick Carl Roser, a loving husband, cherished father, and proud grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024, in Temple, Texas, at the age of 66. Born on October 20, 1958, in Holland Patent, New York, Patrick's journey through life was marked by his unwavering spirit, dedication to his family, and passion for the community.
Patrick was the son of Carl and Joyce Roser, who instilled in him the values of hard work, kindness, and generosity. He shared a beautiful life with his late wife, Dawn Roser, whom he married in Westmoreland, NY. Together, they built a loving home until her passing in 2021. Patrick leaves behind a legacy of love and strength through his two children, Lauren Roser (and husband, Alex) and Brett Roser (and wife, Veronica), as well as three adoring grandchildren who will forever cherish the memories created with their grandfather.
Patrick was a master electrician, utilizing those skills to rebuild his own homes throughout the years, prior to returning to college to further his education. Patrick earned his Bachelor’s Degree in computer science from SUNY IT, which launched him into a successful career in many different areas of computer programming, before finally retiring in 2022.
His zest for life was also evident in his love for bowling, golf and running. Patrick devoted much of his time to these hobbies, participating in numerous leagues, races and tournaments that showcased his competitive spirit and created lasting memories along the way. His commitment to physical activity was complemented by his talent for woodworking, which he pursued passionately in his home-built woodshop. Here, he crafted beautiful pieces that not only reflected his creativity but also his generosity, sharing his creations with family and friends.
A green thumb, Patrick took immense pride in his greenhouse, often sharing the bounty with neighbors, fostering community spirit and nurturing friendships through homegrown vegetables. His active involvement in his church community was a testament to his faith and commitment to helping others, leaving an indelible mark on those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Patrick faced the final chapter of his life with the same courage he exhibited throughout his years. He passed away as a result of complications from pancreatic cancer, leaving behind a legacy that celebrates resilience, love, and the importance of community. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Dawn, and is survived by his children, grandchildren, and countless family and friends whose lives he touched.
A memorial service will be held at Giovanni’s Italian Restaurant in Copperas Cove on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 5 PM, where family and friends will gather to celebrate Patrick's remarkable life and the love he shared with so many.
Burial services will be on Saturday June 14th, 2025 in Clinton, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to organizations dedicated to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (https://pancan.org) or the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation (https://www.npcf.us), continuing Patrick’s legacy of giving and hope.
Patrick Carl Roser will be remembered fondly by his family and community. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
