Pamela Sue Ard

April 15, 1947 — July 16, 2024

Pamela Sue Ard, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on July 16, 2024, at 4:24 a.m. Born on April 15, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, Pamela lived a rich and full life, marked by her many roles and accomplishments.

Graveside services for Pamela will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 9, 2024, at Rest Haven Cemetery in Belton.

Pamela was the daughter of Kathryn Jackson Ard and Dwight Ard, and she had one sister, Sally Veres. The family moved to Durant, Oklahoma, where Pamela grew up, surrounded by the warmth of her grandparents, who owned a local grocery store.

Pamela's life was a tapestry of experiences and achievements. She married for the first time at the tender age of fifteen and was married three times in total. Pam had five children, four of whom supported and loved her until her death: Michelle Williams, Jerry Pilgrim, Megan Meer, and Damon Green. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Her parents and sister preceded her in death.

In her early twenties, Pam embarked on a modeling career, followed by a successful stint as a ballroom dance competitor and teacher in her thirties. Her career took a turn towards sales when she joined Coca-Cola, a role she took immense pride in. Later, she worked alongside her mother at Bausch & Lomb, where she dyed glasses and even let her children participate when they accompanied her to work.

After the birth of her final child, Pam pursued a career in cosmetology, becoming a talented stylist who left a lasting impression on her clients. Throughout her life, Pam faced mental health challenges but remained resilient, often using her innate ability to connect with people and her strong will to accomplish whatever she set her mind to.

Pamela was an outgoing and trusting soul, known for her ability to talk to anyone. She had a deep affection for children and babies, dedicating many years to working in the church nursery.

God was her rock throughout Pam’s life. She always thanked the Lord for her blessings and His protection. Her faith led the way for her family to find similar comfort in God’s plan. They are glad she is now in His arms, no longer suffering.

Among her favorite things were Coca-Cola, Mexican food, makeup, purses, and James Avery jewelry. Pam found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren, dancing with them to the tunes of Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson, teaching them how to make queso, and introducing them to musical theater. Above all, she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren more than anything else in her life.

Pamela Sue Ard will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, resilience, and dedication to family will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to be a part of her life.

Arrangements are entrusted to Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Belton.
