Oscar Herrera, 67, of Moody passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021 in a local hospital. Oscar was born to Herlinda Ramos and Serapio Herrera on October 31, 1953 in Mason, Texas. Oscar served his country in the United States National Guard, then worked as a truck driver, retiring in 2005. He was very involved with his church, was an ordained minister, and was also an Elder at Iglesia Torre Fuerte. Oscar enjoyed hunting, softball, and barbequing. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family and friends.
A visitation for Oscar will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Crotty Funeral Home in Belton. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Iglesia Torre Fuerte Church in Temple with Pastor Manuel Guerrero officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park.
Oscar is survived by his wife of 44 years, Leonora Herrera of Moody; his son, Paul Herrera of Llano; his daughters, Linda Herrera of Waco and Connie Herrera of Moody; his brothers, Benny Herrera of Pontotoc, and Albert Herrera of Austin; his sisters, Olivia Vasquez of Llano, and Gloria Schenk of Medford, MI; and three grandchildren, Michaela Suarez, Gabi Smith and Jennifer Herrera.
Oscar is preceded in death by his sisters, Patsy Gonzales and Carolina Dones.
Arrangements are entrusted to Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Belton.
