Oly Yahnson Ivy

September 12, 1978 — March 26, 2025

Oly Yahnson Ivy, born on September 12, 1978, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on March 26, 2025, in Temple, Texas, after a long battle with illness. He was 46 years old and leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unwavering spirit.

Oly dedicated many years to his career to law enforcement and served in Milam county as a sheriff. He later began a career in pest control culminating in the proud moment when he started his own business, CenTex Pest Patrol. His commitment to his work was matched only by his zest for life, as he brought joy to everyone around him. Known as the life of the party, Oly cherished the moments spent laughing with friends and family, while also valuing the quieter pleasures of life, like movie nights at home. His unique ability to make others laugh—regardless of the appropriateness of the joke—made him an unforgettable presence in the lives of all who knew and loved him.

He found true happiness when he fell in love with Kristin over a Fourth of July weekend. Their bond blossomed into a beautiful life together, exemplified by their purchase of their first home on that very holiday. Oly was Kristin's bright light, helping her come out of her shell and inspiring her to embrace life with open arms. The love they shared was a splendid testament to the joys of partnership.

Oly took immense pride in his accomplishments, especially his children—Zane, Billie, and Kathryn—who were his greatest treasures. Whether it was casting a line while fishing, reveling in the magic of renaissance festivals as a proud Viking, or simply spending quality time with those he held dear, Oly made the most of every moment.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Kristin Lea Chandler of Little River Academy, his son Zane Ivy, his daughters, Billie Ivy, and Kathryn Ivy, and his brother, William "Bud" Yearwood of Ohio. Many cherished family members and friends also carry the warmth of Oly's spirit with them, ensuring his laughter and love will resonate long after he has gone.

Oly is preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Joyce Ivy. His absence is felt deeply, yet the memories left behind enrich the lives he touched in immeasurable ways.
