Myrtle ""Myrt"" Lorene (Tally) Saulsbury, 88, of Troy went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 15, 2015 at a local nursing facility. A family memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Crotty Funeral Home in Belton located at 5431 West US HWY 190 in Belton with her grandson, Jason Whisenant officiating. Myrtle Saulsbury was born on April 10, 1927 to Charlie and Lorena (Couch) Tally in Morris Ranch, TX, near Fredricksburg. She grew up in Brady and as a teenager, she and her 8 year old brother, Weldon, who started playing guitar at age 6, would walk to the KNEL Radio Station in Brady to sing on the Sunday Morning ""Brady Gospel Tabernacle"" broadcast every Sunday from 9:00 to 9:30 A.M. with Bro.Charles Grimes preaching. Then they would walk to church. She married William K. Regian on January 13, 1946 in Brady. During their thirteen years of marriage they had three children. While working in Austin she met Jerry Saulsbuy. They were married on October 7, 1965. They built a home in Troy in 1976. As a housewife she enjoyed raising Cockatiels. She had a love for animals, with many favorite dogs and cats. She enjoyed painting, growing flowers and plants, southern gospel, and country music. She and Jerry loved music and dancing. When they took up square dancing she made all their matching outfits. She also enjoyed playing board games, mostly Wahoo with her family. Myrt will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Melvin Tally in 1989; Chester Tally in 2001; son William K. Regian Jr in 2004. She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Saulsbury, of Troy; daughters, Linda V. Johnson, of Temple and Gayla Paulette Regian, of Austin; sister, Viola Cox, of Robinson; brother, Weldon Talley, of Brady; four grandchildren; Kelly Schultze, Jason Whisenant, Amy Graham, and Laura Futch; ten great- grandchildren; Madison, Mallory, Camden, Noah, Emily, AJ, Callan, Avery, Gary and Matthew; sister in laws, Dorothy Tally and Jean Tally; many nieces and nephews; numerous great- nieces and nephews; her dear and caring friends, Tommie Rowland, Viola Puetsch and her beloved pets; Woodstock, Dennis and Charlie.
