Monty Jerry Shannon

Monty Jerry "Jug" Shannon, 73, of Troy passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019 at his residence. Private family services will be held at a later date. Monty was the son of Robert and Edith Shannon, born on September 08, 1945 in Belton, Texas. He graduated from Belton High School, class of 1964. Monty proudly served in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1969. He did commercial construction most of his life. He loved to dance and make people laugh. Monty will be dearly missed. Monty is preceded in death by his wife, Ella Louise Shannon, on October 31, 2016. He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Shannon of Troy and Tammy Shannon of Temple; two step daughters, Glenna Grant Peacock and Kelly Grant both of Texas; two step sons, Jeffery Grant of Texas and Dewayne Crow of Arizona; three sisters, Shirley Miller of Belton, Nettie Regian of Belton, and Judy Pendledon of Galveston and four grandchildren.
