Michael Antoine Clay, 49 of Killeen, a beloved son, brother, husband, and friend, passed away on December 27, 2023 in Killeen, Texas. Born on April 30, 1974 in Davenport, Iowa, to Marsha Morgan and Michael Moore. Michael's life was filled with compassion, dedication, and a deep love for nature.
Throughout his career, Michael worked in transportation for various school districts. With a warm heart and a friendly demeanor, he made lasting connections with the students he transported. Michael's genuine care and concern for others made him an exceptional individual in his field.
Beyond his professional life, Michael embodied the true essence of kindness. He had a remarkable ability to empathize with others and was always there to lend a helping hand or offer an encouraging word. His thoughtfulness touched the lives of many and left an everlasting impact on those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.
In his free time, Michael found solace in being outdoors. Whether it was fishing by the tranquil lakeside or simply enjoying the beauty of nature's bounty, he felt at peace surrounded by the wonders of the world. Cars also fascinated him; their power and craftsmanship intrigued him greatly. Being near water held a special place in his heart as it provided him with a sense of tranquility that few other things could replicate. He enjoyed playing card games but above all, spending time with his family.
Left to honor his memory is his mother; Marsha Morgan and her husband, Timothy Morgan of Taylor and his father, Michael Moore of Pflugerville ; his stepchildren, Cameron Paige and Davia Paige; his brothers, Matthew Clay and his wife, Tara of Cedar Park, Shannon Clay and his wife, Christina of Round Rock, Sean Clay of Taylor, Corey Moore of Dallas, and Kevin Clay and his wife, Liz of Hutto ; his sister, LaStarr Morgan, stood as pillars of strength throughout their lives together. Countless family members and friends also mourn his loss with heavy hearts.
Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Clay, his grandparents, Mark and Blanche Clay, and L.W. and Ruby Moore. Additionally, his uncle, Mark Clay III, his aunt, Beverly Steward, his cousins, Steven Clay, Kelly Gooding, and Angelo Pate.
To honor Michael's memory, a memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on January 20, 2024, at First United Methodist Church, 1004 N Mays St, Round Rock, TX 78664, with Pastor Charles Bland officiating.
As we gather to celebrate Michael's life, let us remember the joy he brought to our lives and the kindness he exuded. His presence may no longer be physically with us, but his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May we find solace in knowing that Michael is now resting in eternal peace, surrounded by the beauty of the heavens above.
