Michael Drake Brown

Michael Drake Brown, 73, of Killeen passed away on January 26, 2024.He was born on July 25, 1950, in Bethesda, Maryland to his parents Harvey Glenn Brown and Ida Alice Belkin.

Michael dedicated his life in service to his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force. He served his duty with honor and distinction throughout his military career and retired in 1989 after many years of service and many decorations including, National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal w/3 Bronze Service Stars; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; Purple Heart; Sharpshooter (Rifle); AF Commendation Medal; AF Outstanding Unit Award; AF Good Conduct Medal With Four OLC; AF Overseas Short Tour Ribbon; AF Overseas Long Tour Ribbon; AF Longevity Service Award Ribbon With Four OLC and the AF Training Ribbon.

Beyond his military career, Michael was a devoted family man who cherished the time spent with his loved ones the most. 

Michael is survived by his son, Michael D. Brown, Jr. and wife Tisha Brown of Emory, TX; his daughter, Christine “Crissy” Smith and husband Christopher “CJ” Smith of Killeen, TX; a brother, Mark Brown of Winnsboro, TX and four grandchildren, Matthew Brown, Carson Gelwick, Emory Brown and Lydia Smith.

Memorial service with Military honors will be 11 AM, Monday March 25, 2024 at Keys Valley Baptist Church, 4393 US HWY 190 in Belton with H.K. Ballard officiating. 

Michael’s warm presence will forever be missed by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
