Mervis McDonald Dillard, 98, of Temple passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at a local nursing home in Temple. A visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Crotty Funeral Home in Belton. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 18, 2019 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple with Pastor H.K. Ballard officiating. Mervis was born on October 31, 1920 to W.O. and Mamie Wren in Ratibor. She graduated from Temple High School in 1938. She married her late husband, Woodrow Wilson ""Doc"" Dillard on December 31, 1939 in Temple. Mervis attended Fields Beauty College and worked as a beauty operator most of her life. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, camping, doing things with the Good Sam Club, and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 76 years on March 17, 2016, her parents, W.O. and Mamie Wren; her son, Wilson Wren Dillard, one infant son, and one great grandson, four brothers, and six sisters. She is survived by her daughter; Brenda Lasly of Temple; grandchildren, Cindy Levingston of Troy, Ronnie Lasly of Temple, Genna Dillard of Vale, CO, and Mathew Dillard of Seattle, WA, and three great grandchildren.
