Melvin Housewright, 66, of Temple went to be the Lord on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at a local hospital.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
He was born January 24, 1956, in Temple to Troy and Charlotte Sue Housewright. He married Deborah Hogan on April 3, 1993. Melvin enjoyed writing poetry, he published the poem America’s Son, and wrote songs with his wife. He worked at a Western Hatcheries and E.R. Carpenter in Temple for many years. He loved tinkering with electronics and spending time with his family. He was Baptist and a strong man of faith. Melvin was a big family man he never met a stranger, he was friendly, outgoing, kind, and, giving.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Housewright; two sons, Richard Edward Housewright, and John R. Housewright and wife Janis of; two daughters, Elizabeth Kelley, and husband, Brandon, and Tonja Tobar; two sisters Connie Jimenez and, Elaine Barcelo both of and five grandchildren, Alexis, Dezerea, Destiny, Jacob, and Jordon, all of Temple. Along with several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are entrusted to Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Belton.
