Melissa Kay Goldsmith (Bilbrey), age 57, of Temple, Texas, passed away on May 1, 2024, in Belton, Texas. She was born to Helen and Jasper Bilbrey on November 10, 1966, in Temple, Texas where she was rooted and blossomed throughout her cherished life.
She is survived by a family that adored her: her children, Chris Bilbrey and wife, Leah, Andrea Basey Carpenter and Husband, Aaron, and Cody Bilbrey; her beloved grandchildren, Logan Bilbrey, Brady Johnson, Natalie Basey, Brantley Basey, and Aubree Basey.
The title of Grammy was one Melissa wore like a crown. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she had a unique ability to make each grandchild feel like the center of her world. She was a master storyteller, often sharing tales of her grandchildren's adventures and achievements with anyone who would listen. Each moment spent with them was cherished.
Melissa's memory will also be treasured by her father, Jasper Esque Bilbrey; her sisters, Patty Lanmon, Dee Bilbrey and Nancy Bilbrey; and her brother, Danny Bilbrey.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Eileen Bilbrey; her sister, Laura Williams; and her brother, Bobby Bilbrey.
Melissa's life was a gift to us all, and we are grateful for the time we were able to share with her. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love will forever be a part of who we are.
Memorial services for Melissa will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Harper Talasek In Belton by Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Belton.
