Martha Sue Praytor Wortham, met her savior Jesus face to face on January 15, 2025. Born on October 27, 1939 in Lindale, Texas to Weldon Mitchell Praytor and Mildred Lousie Gibson- Praytor. She was the seventh child of nine children born to this union. Educated in Lindale, Sue was active in many school activities and was a high school cheerleader.
In 1955 she met and fell in love with David Wortham, after dating for four years the two married on January 24, 1958 setting in motion a life of unconditional love and support to the man she felt God chose for her. To this union they welcomed five children.
In 1965 they arrived in Killeen, Texas due to a job assignment with Texas Power and Light Co., where they made their home of 60 years, making wonderful memories with their children, friends and church family. To Sue the most important things were faith and family, she was happiest at family gatherings where laughter took over and so many memories were shared. Some memory making moments with family include: all night games of 42, Spades and Tripoley, road trips with grandchildren, her Ya-Ya weekends with her sisters, and years of traveling and retirement with David. Sue was a devoted member of FBC for over 50 years, she was a Eastern Star, a member of the Seed & Weed Garden Club and the Killeen Riding & Roping Club and was involved in numerous community and school committees and boards.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband of 60 years; her daughter, Angela; two brothers, Mitch and Bud Praytor; three sisters, Pat Streetman, Neil Cox and Laura Alvey.
Sue is survived by Craig and Danielle Wortham, Penny Wortham, Todd and Elizabeth Wortham, and Wendy and Tom Mullins; grandchildren, Zachary, Lindsey, Benjamin, Brett, Taylor, Arielle, Ashley, Amber, Matthew, Sarah; adopted grandchildren, JB, Crystal, Bradley and MaryJo; great grandchildren, Maya, Aiden, Laney, Darren, Hayes, Lemon, Cayden and Emily; Sister, Shirley Abbott Lindale, Tx, Sister-In-Law, Beth Praytor Lindale, Tx and Brother-In- Law, Gene Dale Alvey , Lindale, Tx. Sue is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and a very large loving extended family.
In lieu of flowers Sue's family ask that donations be made to Hopewell Cemetery Association 13036 FM 2710 Lindale, Texas 75771.
The celebration of life for Sue will be 11:00 AM on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Killeen First Baptist Church with Randy Wallace, Doug McQueen, and Dewayne Praytor officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
