Martha Jan Dungan-Myers, age 70, of Cameron passed away on December 5, 2024 at a Cameron nursing home. she was born on February 6, 1954 in De Queen, Arkansas to Sheilah Lone Dungan (née Peek) and Joe Lester Dungan. Raised in Paris, Texas, she earned an undergraduate degree in journalism from East Texas State University. She married John Moseley, and they had a daughter, Jennifer Marie Dungan-Moseley. Jan worked for the Paris News before moving to Temple, Texas with her daughter.
In Temple, she worked at the Temple Daily Telegram as Lifestyles Editor for several years before answering her life's calling to become a nurse. She was in the first graduating class from the nursing program at Temple College, becoming an RN and practicing in geriatrics.
She married Jack Myers, and they enjoyed a quiet life in rural Milam County at Bryant Station.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents, brother Joe Lester "Little Joe" Dungan, Junior, and husband Jack Myers. She is survived by a brother John Clark Dungan (Karen), nephews Ian Michael Dungan (Kacee) and Fisher Gavin Dungan. She is also survived by a granddaughter Leilana Marie Thomas and great nephews Ian Michael Dungan II and Blaine Emmons Dungan.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations and memorial gifts may be made to the Buckholts Volunteer Fire Department.
