Marta Lidia Ortiz

Marta Lidia Ortiz,81, of Temple passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at her residence.

Marta’s family will celebrate her life and legacy every day until they see her again in Heaven.

Marta was born on March 27, 1940, to Eleuterio Ortiz and Petra Santiago in Ponce. She married the love of her life Rafael Ramos in 1963. Together they had three beautiful children. Marta was the example of what a wife and mother should be. She sewed clothes for her family, friends, and neighbors. Marta made the best traditional Puerto Rican food and her Spanish rice was always the first dish empty. Marta spent most of her life living in Ponce and considered that her home. Even in her final days she wanted to go home to Puerto Rico. Her children remember her as being able to do anything and everything. Marta could do plumbing, carpentry, and whatever obstacle came her way. Marta enjoyed gardening and beautiful roses were always her favorite. You would often find Marta sitting in her favorite rocking chair that she upholstered herself. She was a woman of faith and committed her life to being and amazing mother and grandmother. Her family will miss her very much.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rafael Ramos, her parents, Eleuterio Ortiz and Petra Santiago, her brothers, Narciso Ortiz-Santiago, Jorge Ortiz-Santiago, Manolin Ortiz-Santiago, Jesus Ortiz-Santiago, and Harry Ortiz-Santiago; her sister, Petrin Ortiz-Santiago and her grandchild, Jose Emmanuel Ramos

She is survived by her sons, Rafael Ramos Ortiz of Temple and Gerardo Ramos Ortiz and wife, Rosa of Killeen; her daughter, Marta and her husband, Jose Ramos of Belton; her brother, Rafael Ortiz-Santiago; her sisters, Margarita Ortiz-Santiago, and her three grandchildren, Neithan, Joshua, and Geremy Ramos- Rosich.
