Marlin Merrell

Marlin ""Pretty Boy"" ""Poppy"" Merrell, age 81, had a glorious entrance into heaven on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at his home in Killeen surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife, Sue of 53 years; his daughters, Lori, Leigh Ann, Marla, Lana; one son Marlin Joshua; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Destiny World Outreach Center. A celebration of Marlin's life will be held at 11:00 A.M Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Destiny World Outreach Center with Pastor Chad Rowe officiating. Marlin was born on May 27, 1934 to Lewis and Mossie in Morton's Gap, KY. He was one of 14 children. He joined the navy and served our country in the Korean War. Marlin attended Purdee University, Trinity Seminary. And graduated from Rhema Bible College in 2000. Marlin and his wife sue pioneered Open Door Church where they built a community of believers. He was also an entrepreneur owning M&M Enterprises. Marlin was an avid fisherman, gardener, and was a founding member of Destiny World Outreach Center. Over the years Marlin's love for Jesus led him to win many souls for the Kingdom of God. His legacy lives on through his family, who all serve in many facets of ministry, and also in the lives that his spiritual leader ship has changed.
