Mark Allen Mears, affectionately known as Bubba, was a loving, adventurous, and creative soul who filled the lives of those around him with joy and laughter. Born on October 28, 1988, in Longview, Texas, Bubba's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and the pursuit of happiness. Though he tragically passed away on May 15, 2023, in Temple, Texas, his memory and the impact he had on those who knew him will live on forever.
Bubba spent most of his childhood in Plano and attended Plano East High School, where he was known for his infectious smile and ability to bring people together. Graduating in 2007, always seeking to make the world a better place for his family and friends.
Throughout his life, Bubba was passionate about his work and the opportunities it provided for him to explore new places and meet new people. After obtaining his CDL, he enjoyed traveling for work, but eventually found a balance that allowed him to be home more and spend precious time with his family. This dedication to his loved ones was a shining example of the kind of man Bubba was – always putting others before himself, striving to make their lives brighter, and bringing humor to any situation because he never wanted anyone he loved to feel sadness.
Bubba's interests were as diverse and vibrant as his personality. He loved spending time with his family, playing games, especially Mega Man, skateboarding, making music/beats, gospel music, fishing, and watching wrestling. He was adventurous and enjoyed exploring different places with his fiancé, Souriya Franklin, and their children. Being a father was his greatest joy and his son meant the world to him. His love for life was contagious, inspiring those around him to live each day to the fullest and cherish the moments they had together. He wanted everyone to always be happy and prayed for his family, friends, and strangers. His family will miss his ability to always make them laugh and his want for them to always be happy.
Bubba is survived by his loving parents, Jon and Mary Mears of Buda; his beautiful fiancée, Souriya Franklin of Temple; his son, Ryland Jai Mears of Temple; his bonus daughter, Lanah Savanh Franklin of Temple; his paternal grandparents, Don and Judy Mears of Ruston, LA; his maternal grandparents, Carmen Hall of Austin, and Dwaine Hall of Hughes Springs; and his sisters, Maryssa Mears of San Marcos, Skylar Mears of Buda, his cherished 6 aunts, 7 uncles, 31 cousins, and friends. Each of these family members played a vital role in Bubba's life, and their love and support helped shape him into the remarkable person he was.
