Maria Rebeca Catalina Santiago Guzman,76, of Belton passed away on Friday, January 26, 2018 at a local hospital, surrounded by her children. A visitation will be held on January 29, 2018 from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM at Crotty Funeral Home, with Deacon Oscar Valeriano reciting. A funeral mass will be held on January 30, 2018 at 09:00 at Crotty Funeral Home, in Belton, with burial services Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery at 11:00 AM, in Killeen. Maria was born on June 01, 1941 to Jose Maria Santiago and Maria Transito Calixto-Santiago in Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico. She was a member of Christ of King Church in Belton, Guadalupanos, Cursillistas. Maria enjoyed Bingo, garage sale, gambling, Spanish soap operas. Her favorite beverage was coffee and she made the best tamales! She was known for being a prankster and being very outgoing. Maria had the biggest, most giving heart. She loved to sing, dance and host parties.She never said the word,"NO". She enjoyed traveling and making friends. She prayed the rosary every night, with her sister, Rosa. Maria was preceded in death by her parents,Jose Maria Santiago, Maria Transito Calixto-Santiago,her siblings; Guillermo Santiago, Petra Santiago, Elena Santiago, Chalino Santiago and one grandchild, Desiree Guzman. Maria Guzman is survived by her two sons; Estaban Guzman and Augustine Guzman, of Belton, four daughters; Rosa Avina, of Nolanville, Rebecca Guzman Trevino, of Colorado, Carmen Guzman Joenks, of Belton, and Esmeralda Garcia, of Belton, twenty three grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
