Margaret James

Memorial service for Margaret Cordelia James will be 11 AM Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Crotty Funeral Home in Belton, Texas.

Margaret was born on April 19, 1950, to William and Bessie Gunter in Huntington, New York. She graduated from Oyster Bay High School in 1968. She worked for Cardion Electronics as an accountant for over 16 years and as a Pharmacy Technician for more than 10 years at Walgreen’s and The Medicine Shoppe, where she later retired.

Margaret resided in New York until 1986 and moved to Fort Hood, TX with the love of her life Horace V. James. As a wife of a U.S Army Serviceman, she also lived in Mainz, Germany and Colorado Springs, Colorado. She and Horace eventually moved back to Texas settling in Belton, TX, where she passed away January 17, 2023.

Margaret was proceeded in death by her parents, William Clemons Gunter and Bessie Sarah Gunter; Sister, Janice Garland; and Brother Robert (Bob) Gunter.

She is survived by her loving Husband of 36 years, Horace V. James Jr.; Daughters Denise Gunter Little, and LaTonya James; Sons, Marc James and Vincent James; Grandson, Vincent B. James; Granddaughters, Sarah Miller and Niani E. James; Great granddaughters, Akira, Amiya and Alaiyah Douglas; Nieces, Monica James and Donna Gunter; and Nephew Rodney Gunter.

One thing is for sure, she has left an everlasting memory and brought so much happiness to everyone she has ever met.
