Lurlyn Rouse

Lurlyn Rouse, 98 of Belton passed away on December 09, 2017 in a Temple hospital. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Bible Way Pentecostal Church of Heidenhimer with Brother Jim Baggerley officiating. Lurlyn was born on December 26, 1918 in Teague, Texas to Lyndon and Lela Haynie Butler. Lurlyn become a Christian at the age of twelve in Teague, Texas. She met and married James "Jim" Leech in 1939 and he preceded her in death in 1962. Together they had three children. She moved to Houston an joined the First Baptist Church and dearly loved her church. She later married John Rouse and he preceded her in death in 2007. She was a gourmet cook and loved cooking for her family and friends. She enjoyed playing Bridge, traveling, and decorating her home. Lurlyn was preceded in death by her son, James Lyndon, in 1946. Lurlyn is survived by two daughters; Dorothy Griesemer of Lubbock and Jeannie Fitzgerald and husband George, of Temple, two grandchildren; Tiffany Russell and husband Steve of Pensacola, Florida and Misty Griesemer of Lubbock; two great grandchildren, Marci Clare and husband Sean of Pensacola and Holly Dutton of New York, two great great grandchildren Elliot and Piper Clare of Pensacola.
