Lonell Rockette, 86, of Temple went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 7, 2016. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Crotty Funeral Home in Belton with Pastor Lisa Thompson officiating. Lonell Rockette was born on August 3, 1930 to Mattie Goliday Rockette and Hozie Rockette. He was one of seven children. Lonell served his country in the U.S. Army most of his life. He served tours in Korea, Germany, and also in the Vietnam War. He was stationed at Fort Hood where he retired after 22 years of service. Mr. Rockette, or just "Rockette" as he was referred to by his community family, was a pillar of society. If you needed help, advice, or just to talk, he was there. He was well respected, highly regarded and will be sorely missed, his passing has left a great void in the lives of those he touched. Although he is no longer physically present, his spirit lives on in the hearts of all of those whom he came in contact with, no matter the time frame. Lonell was preceded in death by his sisters Erda B. Brooks, and Renalda Rockette, and by his brothers, John Rockette and Earl Rockette. Lonelle Rockette is survived by his son, Theophilus Antonio Stone; his three daughters, Dorothy Jean Rockette, Ebony Debora Revels, and Lynnell Rockette; his brothers, Edward Rockette and Lenard Rockette. He is blessed with ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Arrangements are entrusted to Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Belton.
