Lois Ann Myer, 60, of Temple, gained her wings to join our father in heaven on Friday, November 4, 2022, at the hospital surrounded by her family.
Lois Ann Myer was born on April 25, 1962, to Royal Junior Bishop and Charlotte (Moncrief) Myhre in Amarillo, Texas. However, if you ask her, her dad was Norman Myhre.
Lois retired from the Bell County Registration office in 2009 and enjoyed her retirement with her loving soulmate of 23 years, Roy Guerra Jr. Lois loved going to the coast, watching the sunrise on the beach with Roy, but what she loved the most was when she and Roy would ride down the beach with “her babies.” She always considered her dogs her babies and they were always near and dear to her heart and her side. Lois loved cooking just about anything, as long as it was with Roy by her side helping her. She also enjoyed family gatherings and never missed one that her family can think of. She loved every person in her family so much, regardless of how they became family.
She and Roy were in a pool league for many years and had what most would call a team, but their team was more like family. They would go camping together and take trips. They all went to Las Vegas one year, and one of her and Roy’s favorite memories about that trip was when they all were walking past a chapel and Roy said jokingly, “Lois, let’s just get married, right here, right now!” Everyone stopped in their tracks with eyes so big and laughter took over.
Lois found out 5 weeks ago she had a very aggressive lung cancer, but as she always has been a fighter and a lover of life, she fought cancer with every bit of strength she had. She spent more time in the hospital in the 5 weeks after being diagnosed with cancer than she did at home. She made the choice to begin chemotherapy to continue her fight, but then learned the cancer had exploded in her lungs. Lois was very loved and will be missed by so many that will always keep her memory alive.
Lois is survived by her loving partner of 23 years, Roy Guerra Jr; her brothers, Kevin Myhre and wife Lisa of Moody, Andy Myhre and wife Kim of Rogers; her sisters, Teresa Myhre and wife Courtney of Florida, and Tammy Myhre of Mississippi; her babies, Gizmo and Phoenix, and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Lois is preceded in death by her father Royal Junior Bishop, her mother Charlotte Myhre, her dad Norman Myhre, her brother Terry Myhre and his wife Cindy.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Belton.
