Lloyd Charping, 81, of Belton passed away on Wednesday April 20, 2016 at his residence. Visitation will be Thursday, April 28, 2016 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Belton. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 29, 2016 at Resthaven Cemetery in Belton. His body was cremated. Lloyd Charping was born on April 13, 1935 to Antz and Cynthia Cox Charping in Winfield, Louisiana. He married Sandra Garrett on April 16, 1968 in Benton, Arkansas. Mr. Charping was self employed in the siding business for many years. He worked as the Bell County Constable from 1996 to 2000. Mr. Charping was a Certified DPS Handgun Instructor, TCLEOSE Certified Peace Officer, Pilot and Owner of Charping Airport in Temple. Survivors are his wife Sandra Charping of Belton; two sons, Scott Charping of Killeen and Jeff Charping and wife Divina of Trenton, MI; two daughters, Kim Young and husband Larry of Heidenheimer and Tina Wright of Temple; three brothers, Antz Charping and Jerry Charping both of Waco and Coy Charping of Killeen; 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Mr. Charping was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer Charping and Oscar Charping both of Killeen. Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
