Lennard Herman Trute, Jr.

Lennard Herman Trute Jr. "Pop", 76, of Belton, passed away on Monday, April 05, 2021 in the comfort of his home. Lennard was born on September 21, 1944 to Lennard H. and Neverlyne Roesler Trute Sr. in Brenham, Texas. He went to school and grew up in Brenham. Lennard met his late wife Dorothy in Somerville and they were married on June 18. Lennard was a Veteran of Foreign War and served in the Vietnam War. He worked as a driver and stocker at Tom's Peanuts, as a Chef for Universal Ogden, a Police officer, and finally for the City of Belton Water Department until his retirement.
Lennard was a member of the VFW 4008 in Belton. He loved working in his yard and spending time with his dog, Bo. Lennard enjoyed traveling the State of Texas, going to movies with his companion Sharion Calgari, and spending all the time he could with his grandbabies. Lennard was a very loved man and will be dearly missed.

A visitation for Lennard will be held on Wednesday, April 07, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Crotty Funeral Home in Belton. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 08, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Crotty Funeral Home. Burial will follow at North Belton Cemetery.

Lennard is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy A. Trute; his step-son Jimmie L. Ward; his parents; his grandparents; and one brother.

Lennard is survived by his two sons, Craig Trute and wife Theresa of Virginia Beach and Scott Trute and wife Laurie of Brenham; his two daughters, Barbara Ishmael of College Station and Crystal Massie and husband Joshua of Belton; his step-son Billy Ward and wife Dana of West; his several grandchildren & great-grandchildren, including the beats to his heart Brennah, Brendon, & Skyla Massie, all of Belton.
