Leland ""Rusty"" Simms Edwards, Jr., 58, of Little River passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at a local hospital. A memorial service will be held by his family following church services at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Soldiers of The Cross in Killeen. Rusty was the oldest son of Leland and Jeanelle Edwards. He was born on March 3, 1959 in Elk City, OK. He was a glass glazier most of his life and was very skilled in his glass work. Rusty was known for his musical talent. He taught himself to play the guitar at fourteen and just never put it down. He played in several bands in Midland where he lived most of his life. Rusty moved to Little River about seven years ago to be close to his mom and sister. He played in the church band in Killeen until his illness took a toll on him a few months ago. He enjoyed everything that had to do with music and fishing. Rusty loved being with his family and will be dearly missed. He is preceded in death by his father, Leland Simms Edwards, Sr., and his brother, David Edwards. Rusty is survived by his loving wife of over seventeen years, Veda Marie Harrell of Little River; his mother, Jeanelle McGregor of Temple; his three sons, Andy Edwards of Austin, Cory Henderson of Murfreesboro, TN, and Josh Henderson of Murfreesboro, TN; his sisters, Julie Wheeler of Temple, Patty White of Aurora, CO, and, Suzanna Simmons of Lubbock; his grandson, J.J Henderson of Murfreesboro, TN; and many cherished relatives and close friends.
