Laura Estes Massie, a beacon of love and friendship, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2025, surrounded by her adoring family in Belton, Texas. Born on May 14, 1964, Laura's life was a testament to her selfless nature and the joy she brought to everyone she met.
Laura's journey began as the cherished daughter of Albert and Laura Estes, who predeceased her, along with her beloved sister, Linda King. She grew up alongside her brothers, Lee and Dee Estes, in a home filled with laughter and kindness—a trait she carried throughout her life.
In her youth, Laura's radiant smile and friendly demeanor drew people to her, and among them was Michael Massie, who would become her devoted husband. Together, they built a life founded on love and mutual respect, welcoming their sons, Joshua and Justin, and later, their son-in-law, Steven Watson, and daughter-in-law, Crystal Massie. Laura's role as a mother was one she cherished deeply, and she instilled in her children the values of compassion and generosity that she embodied.
Laura's joy multiplied with the arrival of her grandchildren, Alan, Skyla, Brennah, and Brendon Massie. She took immense pleasure in her role as a Nana, sharing with them her love for life and the small wonders of the world. Each child held a special place in her heart, and she left them with countless cherished memories.
Her home was a reflection of her passions, adorned with an extensive collection of elephant figurines and trinkets. Laura's fascination with elephants was more than a hobby—it was a representation of her strong family bonds and a memory of her travels and adventures. She also found great delight in playing Bingo with friends, her laughter and excitement lighting up the room.
Laura's kindness extended beyond her family to her friendships, which she nurtured with the same care and attention. Sissy Yeager, her good friend, and confidante, can attest to the warmth and loyalty that Laura provided without a second thought. Her presence was a source of comfort and joy to those who had the privilege to know her.
Described by those who loved her as loving, friendly, and selfless, Laura left an indelible mark on the world. Her ability to make others feel valued and loved was one of her most remarkable gifts. Laura approached life with an open heart, welcoming new experiences and people with open arms.
As we bid farewell to Laura Estes Massie, we celebrate the profound impact she had on our lives. Her legacy of love, friendship, and selflessness will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her. Though she has departed from this world, the light of her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her family and friends.
Laura's life will be celebrated in a private ceremony, where her family and close friends will gather to honor her memory and the beautiful life she lived. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on as a guiding star for all those she loved.
In her passing, Laura leaves behind her husband, Michael; her sons, Joshua and Justin; her daughter-in-law, Crystal; her son-in-law, Steven; her grandchildren, Alan, Skyla, Brennah, and Brendon; her brothers, Lee and Dee Estes; and all of her good friends. Laura's spirit, her laughter, and her capacity for love have left an everlasting imprint on our world, and she will forever be remembered as a cherished wife, mother, Nana, sister, and friend.
