Larry Haire Sr.

September 11, 1944 — December 15, 2024

Larry Gene Haire Sr., born on September 11, 1944, in Temple, Texas to Jewell and Wilma Haire, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2024, in Troy, Texas. His journey through life was marked by a passion for his work, an infectious sense of humor, and a deep love for his family.

For 30 years, Larry dedicated himself to his career at Terminix as a salesman before embarking on a new, opening Larry's Pest Control. His commitment to his profession also led him to collaborate with several local builders, gaining respect and admiration from his peers and clients alike. Beyond his professional life, Larry enjoyed watching westerns, racing pigeons, showing rabbits, and he cherished every moment spent raising animals.

Larry’s outgoing personality and perfectionist tendencies made him a memorable figure. He had the unique ability to light up any room with his laughter, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. His devotion to sharing jokes and creating joy in the lives of those around him is a memory that will forever resonate within his family and friends.

Above all, Larry took immense pride in his children and family, which he considered his proudest accomplishments. His legacy lives on through his loving sons: Kenneth Riddle, Leonard Riddle and his wife Vicky, Larry Haire Jr. and his wife Vickie, Robert Haire and his wife Denna. He also leaves behind his cherished daughters: JoAnn Henager and her husband Tim, Jessica Armold and her husband Phil, Wilma Moya, Sadie Kankelfitz and her husband Duwayne, April Pagel and her husband Dusty. Larry was deeply proud of his extensive family, which includes fifty-two grandchildren, eighty great-grandchildren, and fifteen great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry his spirit forward.

Larry's departure leaves a void that can never be filled. He is preceded in death by his beloved son, Billy Riddle, and his daughter, Suzie Salyers, along with four great-grandchildren. His memory is also cherished by those who have gone before him, including his parents, Jewell and Wilma Haire; his brothers, Verlon and Billy Haire; and his sisters, Wanda Andrews, Doris Rhea, Barbara Jenkins, and Mary Joyce Haire. He will also be joining the love of his life Sadie Taylor Smith.

As we reflect on Larry's life, we hold dear the memories of his laughter, his unwavering dedication to his family, and the joy he brought to those around him. While he may no longer be with us in body, his spirit will forever echo in the hearts of his family and friends.
