Joyce Eleanor Oster

June 2, 1953 — January 25, 2021

Joyce Eleanor Oster, 67, of Fort Hood went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 25, 2021 in the comfort of her home.

 

Funeral services for Joyce will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Northside Baptist Church in Nolanville with Pastor Garber officiating.  Burial will follow at Central Texas State Veterans State Cemetery in Killeen. A viewing will be held one hour prior to funeral services from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M.  

 

Joyce Eleanor Oster was born on June 2, 1953 to Harold and Helen Pyell in Orleans, NE. She married Kenneth Oster on March 17, 1972.  She received her Associated Degree in Accounting, a certificate in medical insurance, and worked some in retail. She raised five successful children who know the Lord.  Joyce was a woman who never liked to show pain or discomfort, did not like the bathroom floor to be wet, and always wanted dinner on the table at a certain time each day.  She was faithful, patient, compassionate, extraordinary, wise, loving, and steadfast. Joyce enjoyed gardening, hummingbirds, cardinals, being “Grandma” to her cherished grandchildren, spending time with her family, and attending Church at Northside Baptist Church in Nolanville.

 

The Oster family has invited you to join them for a light luncheon at Northside Baptist Church in Nolanville on Monday, February 1, 2021 from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. one hour before Joyce’s viewing.

 

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Helen Pyell, one unborn child, her grandchildren, Morgan Oster and Donald Oster, her brother, Ronald Pyell, and her father-in-law, Eugene Oster.

 

She is survived by her loving husband of over forty-eight years, Kenneth Oster, of Fort Hood; three sons, Ronald Oster of Aztec, NM, Edward Oster of Surprise, AZ, and Richard Oster of Killeen, TX, two daughters; Tonya Chapin of Milaca, MN and Christine Kihlthau of Stockton, CA, three brothers; Dennis Pyell of Orleans, NE, Eugene Pyell of Westminster, CO, and Randy Pyell of Greeley CO, sixteen grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Joyce requested that people donate to the churches that are pastored by her sons, Ronald and Edward, as well as her home church of Northside Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.
