Jonathan Tyrone Kitchens,26, of Killeen passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021, in Norfolk, VA. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 from 9:30 A.M. to 11: 00 A.M. at Destiny World Outreach Center in Killeen. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 A.M. at Destiny World Outreach Center with Pastor Chad Rowe officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Belton.
Jonathan was born on November 2, 1994, to Dwayne F. Kitchens and Marion Colon Mestey in Temple. He was always animated even as a young boy and always made his family laugh. He enjoyed playing sports and was always active growing up. He attended Killeen High School and graduated from Transformative Charter Academy. Jonathan was a talented artist. He enjoyed drawing, poems, art, writing songs, and was so gifted. That led him to start cutting hair and that was his true passion. He attended Job Corp in Reno, NV and really found his path. He received a certification in office administration, was student president, and received a reference letter from a local senator. Jonathan loved the New Orleans Saints Football Team, and spending time with his friends. He has two daughters that he loves dearly, and he will be so missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Dwayne F. Kitchens.
Jonathan is survived by his mother, Marion Colon Mestey of Killeen, his daughters, Izabella Rose Baker of Austin, and Maisie Mae Austin of Killeen; his five brothers, Rene Colon Mestey of Alaska, Dwayne Kitchens of Kentucky, Charles Kitchens of Atlanta, GA, Demarcus Childress of Mendenhall, MS, and Brandon Kitchens of Oregon; his sisters, Marshahn Raine of Dallas, TX, and Shatara McGee of Houston, TX, and many cherished family members and friends.
