Joe Mack Laird

Joe Mack Laird,73, of Temple went to be with the lord on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at home with his family. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Crossroads Church in Belton with Pastor Matt Thrasher officiating. Joe was born on January 29, 1945 to Pete and Mayna (Crane) Laird in Fort Worth. Joe graduated from Temple High School in 1963. He also attended Kemper Military Academy and graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in Ranch Management. He married the girl of his dreams, Mary Ann (Wiese) Laird on September 5, 1963 in Temple at First Baptist Church. Joe was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He stayed busy and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Joe attended church at Crossroads in Belton. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mayna (Crane) Smith in 1978 and Pete Laird in 2018 and his sister, Shirley (Laird) Hargett in 2008. Joe is survived by his loving wife of over 55 years, Mary Ann Laird of Temple; his two sons, Joe ""Shack"" Laird and wife, Allison of Temple, and William ""Bill"" Laird of Temple; his daughter, Lissa Hazard and husband, Paul of North Carolina; his sister, Cissy Thompson of Fort Worth; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Crossroads Church of Belton. Arrangements are entrusted to Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Belton.
