Joe Hernandez, age 52, of Temple, passed away on January 6, 2024 at a local hospital.
A viewing honoring Joe's life will be held at Crotty Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Belton on Sunday, January 14, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., followed by a prayer service from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 1018 S 7th St, Temple, TX 76504, starting at 10:30 a.m. followed by his burial at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple.
Joe was born on July 21, 1971, to Ernesto and Esther Hernandez in Temple. He was known for his kind heart and giving nature, Joe always went above and beyond to help anyone in need. He found joy in making others smile and was always ready to lend a helping hand. His selflessness extended beyond his professional career as a landscaper; it was deeply ingrained in his personality. Joe loved God, and his faith was at the core of everything he did. He exemplified the teachings of compassion and kindness through his actions. Joe found solace in simplicity and enjoyed spending time outdoors. Gardening allowed him to connect with nature, nurture life, and create beauty all around him. He loved music , Dallas Cowboy Football, and being with his family. Joe had an incredible impact on those around him and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Villanueva, his children, Jonathan D. Gloria Hernandez Sr. and his wife, Jamacia Gloria, Erica Villanueva and her husband, Able Reyes , Damion Lopez, and David Lopez Jr. his grandchildren, Jonathan D. Gloria Hernandez Jr., Justice Anthony Gloria, Iana Kingsley, Tray Kingsley, Nick Jackson, Michael Reyes, and Jonathan Reyes, all of Temple, his brother, Jim S. Hernandez, his sister, Gina L. Hernandez, , all of Temple, numerous family members and friends.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Ernesto and Esther Hernandez and his brother, Ernesto Hernandez Jr.
In this time of mourning, let us remember the profound impact Joe had on our lives and strive to emulate his selflessness and love for others. May he rest in peace knowing that his legacy will continue to thrive in the hearts of those who knew and loved him dearly.
