Jessica Gail Weaks,29, of Belton, passed away July 09, 2015 at a local hospital. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday July 17th, 2015 at the Free Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ in Belton with Jay Weaks officiating. Her body was cremated. Jessica Weaks was born on September 18, 1985 to Rhonda (Weaks) Asmus in Temple. She attended Brookings High School in Brookings, S.D. where she spent her life fighting to live. She enjoyed singing, cooking and meeting new people. Her very strong faith in what lay beyond this simple mortal life was apparent in her fearless battles to live the life she was given to the last breath. To know her was inspiring. To be called a friend by her was an honor enjoyed by few. Her brother and sister can never know just how proud she was of them both. She was anything but sick or weak. She was strong and brave, trapped in a frail, broken body. Her mother held her tight as always. This time knowing she can't stay. She now sheds those used old restraints. Her beauty is something to see, gorgeous wings wide and strong. Now she holds her mother. She is survived by her mother, Rhonda (Weaks) Asmus, of Belton; one sister, Casey Angerstein, of Temple; one brother, Wesley Myers, of Belton; paternal grandparents, Harry and Bea Chollett, of Temple; several aunts, uncles, and cousins and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, J.I and Myrtle (McGuire) Weaks, her step-father Scott Myers and one cousin, Dwayne Herring. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Texas Kidney Foundation or the National Kidney Foundation.
