Jerry L. Jett

Jerry L. Jett, 79, of Temple passed into the arms of God Thursday September 21, at his home after a lengthy illness. He was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing. A memorial service will be held on October 7 at 10:00 am at First Christian Church with Rev. Darrell Biggs officiating. His body was cremated. Jerry entered into this life on February 19, 1938 in Shamrock, Texas to Ulric Orlando and Zeffie Ruth Bishop. He enlisted in the National Guard from 1955 until 1965. He married Mae Gott on March 22, 1957 in Lubbock, Texas. During his long career of 30 plus years as an electrician at Texas Instruments in Temple, he was a facility supervisor. He retired in 1997, to care for his wife Mae, who preceded him in death on July 13, 2004. He was fortunate to find love a second time and married Ruby Smith on July 8, 2006. Ruby was by his side until he went to be with his Lord in heaven. Jerry is preceded in death by his first wife, Mae Jett; one sister, Lurlene Issacs; two brothers, JB Jett and Walter Jett. Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Ruby Jett of Temple; three daughters, Denise Jett and partner Anna Koehn of Weimar, TX, Toni McCommas of Waco, TX and Becky Jett and spouse Dawn Thompson of Temple; one step-son, Kyle Bradford and spouse Rebecca Bradford of Temple; one brother, Joe S. Jett and spouse Karen Jett of Shamrock; three brother-in-law's, Perry Gott, Kenneth Gott, and Bill Gott; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
