James ""Jim"" Miller

James ""Jim"" Miller, 80, of Morgan's Point passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017 at his residence after a lengthy illness. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at St. Luke Catholic Church in Temple with Father James Ekeocha officiating. Jim was born on April 27, 1937 to Dean and Elizabeth Crook Miller in Phillipsburg, PA. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany and worked in airmail services for Delta and Western Airlines in San Francisco, CA. He later worked for the Scott & White Reference Laboratory in Temple, TX. Jim married Susan Marie Pirttinen on June 19, 1965 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Maywood, CA. He is survived by his wife, Susan Miller of Morgan's Point; one son, David E. Miller of Temple, TX; one daughter, Beverly E. Dunn of Temple, TX; and two grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Margaret Worley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Belton Body of Christ Community Clinic in Belton, TX; or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
