James Michael Curb

June 28, 1951 — April 12, 2025

James Michael "Mike" Curb, a beloved father, grandfather, and brother, peacefully passed away on April 12, 2025, in Temple, TX. Born on June 28, 1951 in Austin, TX, Mike lived a rich and fulfilling life guided by an unwavering faith and a deep love for his family.

A graduate of Crockett High School in Austin, TX in 1969, Mike embarked on a career as the owner of an auto shop, a role he embraced with dedication and hard work until his retirement in 2013. Even after retiring from the hands-on world of automotive service, Mike continued to share his expertise through tech support from the comfort of his home, helping others with the same commitment that defined his working years.

Mike was a man who treasured his family above all else. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Barbara Sue Curb of Morgan's Point Resort, TX who was a source of strength and companionship throughout his life. Together, they nurtured a close-knit family, which includes his daughter, Lisa Ann Curb of Portland, OR, and his son, Jason Michael Curb of Morgan's Point Resort, TX. His role as a father was one of his proudest accomplishments, and nothing brought him greater joy than watching his children grow into remarkable adults.

Mike was also a devoted grandfather, deeply loved by his grandchildren, including Michael Elliott Gustafson of Corvallis, OR and Nathaniel James Gustafson of Denton, TX. His legacy of love and wisdom will surely be carried on by them and the many lives he touched throughout his journey.

Mike leaves behind his brother, Gregory Lynn Curb of Sequim, WA. Their bond was marked by shared memories, laughter, and mutual respect.

He also leaves behind numerous family and friends with whom he shared a common bond of deep faith and love.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold Mason and Dolores Lynn Curb, with whom he also had strong relationships.

Mike Curb will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His memory will shine brightly in the stories shared among family and friends, reminding us all of the importance of faith, hard work, and cherishing the moments spent together. As we remember him, we shall celebrate his life, a testament to love, deep faith, dedication, and the enduring strength of family.
